Goal

To improve the health of women and children among the rural communities of 4 blocks of Siliguri Subdivision through health awareness, good food habits, medical checkups and by creating a clean village environment and promotion of herbal medicinal plants. HOI is supporting with salary of 8 staff and program cost.

Objective 1

Promote awareness of healthy food habits, common diseases, disease prevention, and the importance of proper nutrition among rural communities.

Objective 2

Establish cluster centers equipped with basic medical facilities, enabling health volunteers to provide essential health support within their communities.

Objective 3

Train women leaders and health volunteers on health, hygiene, nutrition, and basic medical knowledge to support community health needs.

Seva Kendra Siliguri (SKS), through the Men SHG project, aims to uplift these communities by improving their socio-economic conditions

Impact: Through our intervention, people in our target villages are now more aware and informed about health issues. Not only are they more knowledgeable about health concerns, but they are also well-informed about various government health schemes and other social schemes. They are confident in accessing these schemes on their own, which has significantly enhanced the quality of life in the villages.
The villagers are happy and appreciative of the initiatives taken by SKS. They are becoming increasingly aware of the importance of personal and community hygiene, as well as the need to stay informed. Their cooperation has been commendable; they actively attend all SKS health meetings and awareness programs.
We have observed noticeable improvements in their personal hygiene and the cleanliness of their surroundings. There is a significant change in their behaviour, as they are now becoming self-sufficient in addressing many of their health-related concerns.
