Seva Kendra Siliguri is the Social Service Centre of the Catholic Diocese of Bagdogra. Established in 1972, we serve as the “human face” of the local church. We are dedicated to integral human development, moving from early emergency relief to professional social advocacy and community empowerment for the marginalized.

Emergency Response
Founded by Rt. Rev. Eric Benjamin and Fr. John Henrichs SJ to provide medical aid and food during the 1971 refugee crisis.
Building Foundations
Through “Food for Work” (FFW) programs, we constructed village roads, school buildings, and irrigation tanks across the region.
Rights & Empowerment
Today, we focus on professional interventions in Child Rights, Organic Farming (Uttoran), and Women’s Empowerment through SHGs.

Operating the Surokhit Shaishav project to abolish child labor in West Bengal.

The Uttoran project promoting climate-resilient organic farming in 15 villages.

Running “Rock Breaker Schools” for children of river-bed stone-breaking families.

Improving rural health through cluster centers and specialized eye camps.
Clean Energy
The “Darkness to Light” project providing solar energy to off-grid rural areas.
Career Training
Sponsoring young tea garden girls for 3-year GNM Nursing courses for social mobility.
